Altru Institute

Altru Institutes in Davos 2025

During the week, Altru Institute will be hosting a series of Research Roundtables will review the results of the survey to analyze the most promising technologies near ready to scale globally. Areas of focus:

SINGLE USE PLASTICS.  160 million tons produced every year worldwide. Only a small percentage is recycled. Most ends up in landfills and a significant portion ends up in the Ocean. Can we find new substances that biodegrade?  Can recycling work?

LANDFILLS AND METHANE. Landfills are primary source of methane gas which is 80x as problematic as CO2. What is the future of recycling? Can waste be turned into clean energy? Can landfills and dumps be turned into clean fuel factories?

AI, DATA CENTERS,  ELECTRICITY, WATER. The vast electricity demands for AI is putting unprecedented pressure on the grid and on the water supply which is used to cool these facilities. What technologies can meet this need without harm to environment?

CLEAN ENERGY. What will it take to bring along promising technologies such as Hydrogen, Nuclear and Geothermal that are both safe and economically feasible? How can we find efficiency and reduce energy consumption

MENTAL HEALTH.  Depression and anxiety run rampant particularly through young people. This stress has led to an epidemic of substance abuse and suicide. What innovations approaches can address this challenge?

A Research Report White Papers will be generated from these meetings to identifying global cross border tech transfer opportunities. This research will be presented to Ministers of Energy, Economy, Environment and Sustainability worldwide.
