Veolia opened one of the largest PFAS treatment plants in the US in 2025 — the $35 million Stanton Water Treatment Plant in Delaware, treating up to 30 million gallons of water per day for over 100,000 residents.
ORIGINS
Veolia traces its roots back to 1853, originally known as Compagnie Générale des Eaux. It was rebranded as Vivendi Environnement between 1998 and 2003 after being spun off from the Vivendi conglomerate, before finally adopting the single name "Veolia" in 2014 following a major restructuring.
