A simple gasification system for hydrogen production with carbon capture.

A pioneering clean energy company harnessing advanced reforming technology to convert organic waste into sustainable fuels. By capturing carbon and producing renewable gases, it drives the transition to a net-zero future while creating valuable byproducts for a circular economy.

TECHNOLOGY / INNOVATION

Rising Pressure Reformer (RiPR) converts wet biogenic waste into hydrogen, biomethane, biochar, and captured CO₂, creating a carbon-negative, scalable, and grid-integrated clean energy solution.

CURRENT STATUS

As of now, Wild Hydrogen has developed four prototypes of its Rising Pressure Reformer (RiPR) technology and is working towards a 1 MW commercial demonstrator, set to be completed by 2028. The company has secured over £4 million in funding and is collaborating with industry partners like Wales & West Utilities to decarbonize the gas grid. They continue to refine their technology and expand their presence in the clean energy sector.

ORIGINS

The concept of a better gasification had been percolating for over two decades in the mind of the company’s Chief Technology Officer Mark Wickham. He felt that the typical gasification process was too complex and that it could be simplified. In Feb 2022 the company was formed to build the first prototype in collaboration with Cranfield University and engineering firm Helical Energy
