A patented RiPR (Rising Pressure Reformer) technology takes biogenic material plus its associated water content and splits it into hydrogen and carbon dioxide, which can then be captured and stored. The efficiency of this process leads to “Clear Hydrogen” – a fuel that takes us beyond existing hydrogen alternatives. It completely flips on its head the relationship between energy production and carbon emissions

A simple gasification system for hydrogen production with carbon capture. A new technology can accelerate the worldwide journey to net zero.

TECHNOLOGY
The technology liberates this hydrogen, using a proprietary process that is not water intensive, does not use large amounts of electricity and avoids the use of strategic or hazardous rare earth metals.
Unlike traditional methods, this technology operates independently, eliminating fossil fuel volatility and grid reliance. The technology is feedstock agnostic, capable of processing a wide range of wastes, from wood waste, agricultural residues to plastics, ensuring flexibility and scalability. Its outputs vary from fuel-cell grade hydrogen to finely tuned syngas optimal for gas turbine performance, enabling access to a vast and rapidly growing hydrogen market.

SIGNIFICANCE
The hydrogen market is facing a crucial dilemma: dominance of grey hydrogen which undermines net zero objectives and the prohibitively high costs of green hydrogen. Wild Hydrogen may have solved many of the biggest challenges facing large-scale biogenic hydrogen production.
NEED
Critical need for clean energy innovative solutions that will remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Clear Hydrogen can do just this and become a fuel of the future – but one that can be produced today.

DATA/EVIDENCE Four prototypes have been built to Technology Readiness Level TRL 6. The company is now developing a commercial demonstrator to TRL 8 by 2027/28. So far, each prototype has increased production capacity tenfold and proven efficiency and scalability.

HISTORY/ORIGINS
October 2021 the founders began working on a concept Mark Wickham had been musing on for 20 years. Feb 2022 the company was formed first prototype was built in collaboration with Cranfield University and engineering firm Helical Energy.

CURRENT STATUS. MILESTONES.
Currently wrapping up financing and beginning the search for a partner for whom they can design and develop the commercial demonstrator.
